Course Program
Lesson 1: Nail Extension Materials and Techniques
- Students will study various materials for nail enhancement, including:
- Acrylic
- Acrylate false nails (polymer made from monomer and acryl powder)
- Gel or lash glue used in application
- Polygel or acrylic gel (hybrid of acrylic and gel)
- Characteristics of materials include durability, ease of use, and client-specific needs.
- Division of glues includes multistage and one-stage glues, with different preparatory steps for each.
- Tools and materials used include antiseptic leopard skin, primer, nail strengthening paint, drills, coating tools, and positioning devices.
Lesson 2: Nail Extension Methods and Learning Procedure
- Students will learn about various enhancement methods, including:
- Application using moulds (limited growth of artificial nails)
- Manual application to adjust minor details in the nail plate
- The learning procedure includes comprehensive demonstrations and practical sessions for mastering different materials and techniques.
- Students will consider durability, ease of use, and client-specific needs when choosing materials and tools.
Lesson 3: Nail Process Sequence and Cabin Area Topics
- The nail process sequence includes:
- Preparation of the nail plate
- Setting form (file and polymerization)
- Laying arch/crown
- Finalizing the architecture with gel
- To grow nails, follow these steps: prepare the plastic plate, set the form, lay the nail tip, and finalize the architecture.
- Sterilization of instruments is crucial, including soaking in desiccant solution, rinsing under running water, drying, and storing in a dry cabinet or ultraviolet sterilizer.
Cabin Area Topics
- Each master should have at least 13 square meters of space for free and organized execution of tasks without disorganization.
- There should be at least two masters in the cabin to reduce stressful situations and increase work efficiency.
- The cabin must have a specialized area for instrument sterilization, including a desiccant solution, running water, and ultraviolet (sterilizer) devices.
Nail Architecture
- The free edge apex is crucial for distributing weight properly and preventing excessive stress in sensitive areas.
- Parallel sides or edges of the nail plate act as a fulcrum to balance out any excess load from nail length and prevent stress concentration on sensitive areas.
- Proximeal valley should be equal to the width of the free edge itself for a snug fit against natural nails without causing discomfort or pressure sores under enhancement.
- S-curves or arches are crucial in creating an appealing look with beautiful curvature on artificial nails.
Trimming
- Trimming is the final step after modeling, where tools like files and nippers are used to refine the work done so far.
- Check all nail tips across ten fingers for equal length post-trim for balance aesthetics and function
- Carefully inspect the nail plate's edges and trim any excess length while retaining enough width at corners for comfort.
Practical Lesson Summary
- The practical lesson focuses on creating artificial nails using a form for growth.
- Main parts of the lesson include preparing the nail plate, applying the form to create the desired shape, processing and shaping the free edge, drying, and setting the gel polish.
- Students learn various skills such as:
- Attention to detail and precision in shaping and applying the form
- Understanding of how to work with different materials and techniques
- Ability to dry and set gel polish correctly
- Skill in stretching and shaping the free edge to achieve a desired shape
- Importance of proper sanitation and hygiene in the nail application process
- The lesson aims to teach students the hands-on skills required to create high-quality artificial nails, while also emphasizing the importance of attention to detail and precision.
